Aging At Home 360

Can My Home Grow Older With Me?

Yes! Whether you are 50 or 80, most homes can grow with you to meet personal needs as you age. Even small adjustments can have a profound impact in helping you to live long-term in your home, safely and comfortably.

At Home With Growing Older (AHWGO) developed Aging at Home 360 ®  for people who want to age on their own terms.  This multi-disciplinary tool helps you to assess the potential of your current home, not only in accommodating the changes that come with growing older, but also in re-discovering life at home.

Our Unique Tool

Our interdisciplinary assessment team will meet with you, in your home, to conduct a comprehensive assessment, resulting in a “Blueprint”, a personalized plan of action, including a list of tools and resources. This Blueprint provides customized solutions taking into account your unique needs, values and priorities and will guide you in creating a personalized life space, implementing any recommended changes and suggestions at your own pace.

We look beyond safety to consider functionality and beauty. We believe your home should be your ally, and a continued source of delight.

Your Blueprint addresses:

Architecture – accessibility, safety, flow, light, materials, beauty;
Design – ergonomics, functionality, assistive devices, technology;
Social/Emotional – social support and community; personal interests and activities; care, needs, long-term planning.

Four Simple Steps

1) Complete initial questionnaire and phone interview.
2) Meet in your home with the AHWGO team.
3) Receive your Aging at Home 360 Blueprint.
4) Participate in follow-up call to check on your progress.

Aging 360 Creative Workshops

Aging 360 Creative Workshops

Aging 360 ® Creative Workshops help participants to find solutions for aging at home on their own terms, with safety and delight.
Most people prefer to age in their own homes. Lack of affordable housing presents a barrier, as does the fact that homes are often not designed to accommodate the changes and transitions that are a natural part of growing older.  There is a growing need to teach people how they can turn their home into an ally, both by making changes to their home and by how they interact with, and live in it.

AHWGO’s Aging 360 ® Creative Workshops teach age-friendly design principles and solutions. Using experiential exercises, we invite participants to tap into their own creativity and the intimate knowledge of their home in coming up with concrete ideas that are executable, affordable and delightful. In sharing challenges and opportunities participants not only learn from each other but often come to support each other in making those changes.

Our workshop will be facilitated by both designers and social workers.

We offer these workshops to senior communities with a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds.
