Rituals and Celebration, Consecrating the Everyday

Redwing Keyssar, RN, BA, is director of the Palliative Care Program at Seniors at Home, a division of Jewish Family and Children’s Services of San Francisco. Redwing has worked for more than 20 years as a ‘midwife’ to the dying. Her book, “Last Acts of Kindness: Lessons from the Bedside of the Dying,” chronicles her experience and talks about ways to approach this everyday, and yet unique, experience for all of us. Her talk focuses on what it means to “show up” and be present for people who are at the end of life, how we can best prepare for our own journey and examples of meaningful rituals for the end of life.
