Why Are Nursing Homes So Scary?
People tend to avoid nursing homes at all costs; “Promise me you will never put me in a nursing home.” “I am leaving my home feet first.” How do we provide long term care for those who can’t afford live-in help or don’t have family to provide care? Assisted Living now serves more individuals who can no longer live alone safely but it is not regulated at the level Nursing Homes are. California is just releasing seven new reform bills. Will they make a difference?
