About Our Featured Guest, Patricia Knight:
Patricia Knight, founder of Pacific Coast Health Advocacy, is a lawyer and a former registered nurse. Knowledge of both the medical and legal worlds gives Patricia a unique insight as a patient advocate amid the confusion and frustration many feel facing today’s healthcare maze. She is your guide and mentor.
During her years as a civil litigation attorney, Patricia handled lawsuits for medical and hospital malpractice, medical device defects, personal injury, and insurance coverage. Before taking her law degree, she was a licensed registered nurse, working for more than 10 years in adult acute care, ICUs, and burn units, and ultimately became a USF School of Nursing faculty member. In her subsequent legal career Patricia retained her close relationship with the healthcare, medical, and scientific communities.
A teacher, counselor, and negotiator, Patricia empowers patients through education, informed decision making, ethics, and patients’ rights. Through Pacific Coast Health Advocacy, she puts those values to work for clients.
Patricia is a trained Patient Advocate and particularly passionate about end-of-life care and planning.
