Designing for Our Future Selves:

The Experience of Aging as a Potential Catalyst for an Inclusive World

Thursday, February 20, 2025

5:30 – 6:30 p.m. PST on Zoom

Our Featured Guest:

Valerie Fletcher | Executive Director, Institute for Human Centered Design

Join our learning community for our next, live At Home, On Air conversation with our featured guest, Valerie Fletcher! In this episode, we’ll dive into a powerful discussion on the challenges to creating an inclusive world, one where everyone — regardless of ability, age, race, gender, or income — has the opportunity to thrive. Valerie’s energy and conviction are matched only by her deep belief in the power of design to change lives.

We will explore thought-provoking topics, including the value of interdependence, how people living with functional variations— whether related to mobility, neurodiversity, or aging — offer us important lessons about living with ambiguity and resilience and how the shared experiences of the aging body and mind could motivate us all in the pursuit of an inclusive world — one that not only accommodates but empowers elders and people with chronic health issues.
