About John Zeisel: John Zeisel is the CEO and Co-Founder of Hearthstone Alzheimer Care and the President and Co-Founder of the I Am Still Here Foundation. He is an internationally known expert on dementia care and treatment innovations. He earned a PhD in Sociology from Columbia University, and a Loeb Fellowship in Advanced Environmental Studies at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. John consequently got involved (1995) in developing dementia care residences (Hearthstone). His projects align the design for the physical environment with a care model for dementia which he developed (the ‘I am still here’ approach).
