About the Conversation:

Speakers from the Chinese American Coalition for Compassionate Care discussed two of their programs:  Mindfulness for Stress Reduction of Caregivers in the Chinese Community and “Heart to Heart,” cards designed to help people talk about difficult subjects around the end-of-life and care needs, both within families and within the community. Both programs are designed to be culturally appropriate and led by English- and Chinese-speaking facilitators.

More about the Chinese American Coalition for Compassionate Care (CACCC):

The coalition was founded in 2007 by Sandy Chen Stokes RN, MSN. Sandy has received numerous awards for her work with CACCC. The coalition model is used to share expertise and resources, and to ensure Chinese Americans receive exceptional end-of-life care and services that address physical, psychosocial, emotional and spiritual needs. The coalition encourages dialogue among Chinese Americans about end-of-life issues.
