Part-time Digital Content Creative and Copywriter for small Non-Profit [Remote]
Role description: Do you have passion for helping older adults age with dignity? For engaging in conversations with interdisciplinary thinkers on diverse topics – such as how pets increase longevity or how we can rethink our relationships to our homes to stay connected to our communities? Do you want to work with incredibly kind and compassionate people?
If you answered “yes” to the previous questions, this might be the perfect part-time gig for you! AHWGO (At Home with Growing Older) is looking for a part-time digital content writer to help keep up regular communication with our email list and social media followers. We are looking for someone who enjoys both writing email newsletters, press releases and the challenge of creating succinct, eye-catching social media content. We want someone who can be creative and unafraid to bring new ideas to the table! This person will work directly for the Executive Director and with the board intermittently.
Bonus: This role is very flexible as far as when and where you work. We expect around 20-30 hours per month, and besides a few regular calls, your schedule is up to you!
Professional Experience/ Attributes
- 2+ years of professional copywriting experience; impeccable grammar
- Experience writing and sending email newsletters
- Experience writing press releases
- 2+ years experience creating and posting professional social media content, including LinkedIn
- Candidates must live in the U.S. and be fluent in spoken and written English
To-Do’s
- 1-2 weekly email newsletters including programming announcements, upcoming events, and more
- Information-only emails (as needed) to board and specific contacts
- Writing short profiles of past speakers and upcoming speakers to promote events
- Monitoring relevant online articles and sharing them with our community
- Writing and publishing press releases about our programs and events
- Fresh, new, and succinct social media content
- Other tasks to free-up our Executive Director so she can focus on grants and fundraising
Extra/Bonus
- Proficiency using Constant Contact
- In-depth experience with older adults, either personally or professionally
- Ability to make and edit social media video clips
- Non-profit experience
Pay/Hours
- $30 – $50 per hour depending on experience, 20-30 hours per month
About AHWGO: At Home with Growing Older is an interdisciplinary non-profit organization based in Berkeley, CA that provides programs and resources to older adults to adapt their living environments to their changing needs as they age.
